Can anyone recommend a decent brand of trumpets on ebay?

Hi. I am looking to buy a trumpet just to play around with at home. I want to find one that is relatively inexpensive, but at the same time is not a piece of foreign junk (as there are many of those on ebay). Can anyone recommend a good brand and model? I am a horn player and own a Holton H179 horn already. I just want a trumpet to play occasionally. Thanks for your help.

A good rule of thumb…If you have not heard of the brand name before it probably sucks. For trumpets I recommend Conn, Bach, Holton, Yamaha, Jupiter (lower quality sometimes), etc.

Stay away from First Act, and anything that comes from a Super Store…seriously, you don’t want to find out that you were awesome all of those years you practiced but your trumpet had a leaky spit valve or no tuning slides.
